The Scarecrow was a member of the traitorous six advisors to the Emperor who manipulated him into betraying the four immortal heroes in order to gain the heroes' immortality themselves. He is the Emperor's second sorrow after the Emperor released the heroes, and is the first boss to be encountered. He had taken on the form of a large scarecrow in Plague Village and is revealed to have been behind the source of the plague. During the narration of the level afterwards the Emperor's ghost mentioned that the six are unlike anything the heroes have previously fought.
