The Key is a ubiquitous item in the Gauntlet series. They are typically yellow in color and each key can open one locked door or treasure chest. Generally, a hero can hold only a certain amount of keys. They are an invaluable item and can prevent player progress if they run out, forcing a restart. As such, it is advised to always have at least one key in the inventory, if at all possible, at all times.
